Being a music lover myself and having listened to Travis Greene’s ‘made a way’ over and over again i was really expectant and looking forward to this cover.

The into first sounded like a scene from the beginning part of a Yoruba movie then the song itself started with the  chant ‘made a way, made a way’ it practically reminded me of the soundtrack From the movie Lion King(those south African chant).

Iwaited patiently until he started with the verses and I thought hmmm nice one, not bad. I particularly liked the not too fast and danceable beat and instrumentation, I can tell he put quite a lot of effort into the production of the song and the quality of sound because the voices and instrument were in symphony and the fact that he used the Yoruba Fuji intonation to sing the verses as well really portrays that its really an African cover.

I wasn’t really excited with the vamp of the song considering that is my favourite part in the original song by Travis Greene and the song was just flat from the beginning to the end, I was waiting for that turning point that song will get to its peak but there wasn’t.

But all in all I submit that its a very nice attempt by Neken Chuwang  because its actually a song that will rub off on you as you listen to it repeatedly.

Overall rating of the song I give it 3stars out of 5.
